Search for Genes Involved in Intervertebral Disk Disease: Program 1

Lower-back pain is often caused by intervertebral disk disease. In a recent paper, this disease has been shown to be associated with a polymorphism in a collagen gene. Researchers in Hong Kong are investigating genetic determinants of the disease in Chinese.
