Cross-Cultural Differences in the Report of Pain and Emotion: China
College of Physicians and Surgeons

The Multidimensional Affect and Pain Survey (MAPS) is a 101-item questionnaire suitable for administration to patients with acute and chronic pain. To date, it has been administered to patients suffering cancer-related pain, and, with respect to mentally contrived pain, to Caucasian, African American, and Hispanic groups. The questionnaire is unique in that it is based on objective mathematical scaling techniques. I am interested in getting it translated and used as widely as possible.
