Once a year, members of the craniofacial cleft lip/palate team of CPMC travels to Central or South America to work with local volunteers to provide surgical care to children with cleft lip/palate deformity. These are indigent children who cannot access care otherwise. The team is self supportive with all expenses, including supplies, paid for by donators or members of the team. Between 50 and 55 children are provided care each trip. This is the seventh year a team will travel abroad.
